It’s near the end of June and finally beginning to feel like summer here in Germany. We’ve had several weeks of scattered rainy days and although our planet can use the moisture, I’ve been yearning for some sunshine. After a long winter and a cloudy spring this Cali girl needs some sun rays and vitamin D. With lots of SPF of course. Now that summer has made its introduction it is time to get my summer wardrobe going.
Adding new pieces to your seasonal wardrobe can be tricky, it’s best to plan ahead and gather your inspiration to give yourself better direction. Spring time is when I develop my inspiration for what I want to purchase for summer. If you read my post about building a wardrobe you love, then you understand that I shop seasonally and work off a yearly capsule wardrobe. This summer I want to focus on adding some cute and trendy tops along with more dresses and skirts.
Below you’ll find my picks for some pretty awesome summer trends. Also, check out the inspiration I used for my summer 2019 wardrobe guide on my Pinterest and follow along for future seasonal fashion picks.
Summer Fashion Trends 2019
Sweetheart Neckline Puff Sleeve Tops
I began to see more and more of the sweetheart neckline style popup during the spring and have fallen so in love with the romantic silhouette. They look flattering on most body types and can be dressed up or down for any occasion. The perfect summer addition to my wardrobe for sure.
Slip Dresses/Skirts
These bad girls are all the rage right now. There isn’t a retailer that doesn’t have some form of the slip dress available. I just love the simplicity of the style and how effortless they are. The slip dress can be dressed up with heels or even dressed down with tennis shoes. The slip skirts are also amazing when just paired with a simple t-shirt and shoes. They’re extremely versatile and perfect for that summer heat.
Wrap Dress
The greatest thing about a wrap dress, is that they never goes out of style. They are sexy and flirty, and when done right they are classy and extremely flattering on all body types. These dresses have been around for so long and they just keep getting better. You can’t go wrong with a classic wrap dress.
Front Tie Crop Top
I don’t typically add a lot of crop tops into my wardrobe. Mostly because they can be super trendy and I like to only add 2-3 trendy items into my wardrobe. But the front tie crop tops got me and I’m definitely adding them this summer. I am mostly drawn to the long sleeve style because they look so adorable with cut-off denim shorts. But the shorter sleeve styles are also a great addition to anyones wardrobe.
